Do I need to take the ring out for sexual activity?

Last updated on September 1, 2020

Nope! You don’t need to take the ring out for sexual activity–it’s designed to stay in your vagina, and most people don’t feel it at all during sex. If it is bothersome you can remove the ring so long as you reinsert it no more than 3 hours later. And if it falls out during or after sexual activity, just wash your hands, rinse the ring in cold water, and re-insert it as soon as you can.
